Covid-19: Encouraging Signs Behind the Headlines in India

The Covid-19 Global Pandemic struck a world in which only 50% of the inhabitants have access to essential health services. No matter what processes were put in place to try and mitigate the effects of the virus, no models were ever likely to be deemed a success, though it has become increasingly clear that some international efforts were more prudent than others. Yet in many countries around the globe those efforts were necessarily underpinned by an unsung army of community groups and NGOs, putting their own health at risk to ensure the most vulnerable were not left even farther behind.

The Benefits of a CDV Global Membership

Today many online services have a membership or paid subscription-based model. News Portals often use them to subsidise their profits, making up for loss of revenue from decreasing physical paper sales. Recruitment sites use membership as a way of tailoring a member's job search requirements using filters. All websites that ask you to register use the information provided for marketing purposes, which depending on the content the member may or may not find of interest. But the best companies don't just use their membership base to sell… they use it to inform.

Introducing... Grama Institute for the Poor

Grama Institute for the Poor is a wonderful community development organisation in rural Karnataka State, India. Their main goals are poverty alleviation, sustainable development and economic, social and political participation, with specific focus on the empowerment and social inclusion of women and young girls in the region. Sadly these women often find themselves and their families marginalised for a number of cultural and social reasons, leading to cyclical poverty, social and health issues, which Grama are keen to address at the root cause.

Introducing… Nisarga

The Nisarga Foundation are an established non-profit organisation whose unique proposition is the support and protection of the forest dwelling 'Adivasi Tribe' with specific regard to the nutritional growth and development of tribal children and support for pregnant and new-born mothers. 

Their aim is to ensure positive socio-economic, cultural and political empowerment in the indigenous areas, while protecting the environment and nurturing its biodiversity.

It is with great pleasure that, after many months of hard work between CDV Global and dozens of wonderful rural NGOs across the country, we can now announce that our operations are live in India.

Over the coming months we will be posting many great opportunities for our members and clients to volunteer to work alongside these great organisations, offering expert support and delivering bespoke training that directly meets the needs they identified with us.
