Covid-19: Encouraging Signs Behind the Headlines in India

The Covid-19 Global Pandemic struck a world in which only 50% of the inhabitants have access to essential health services. No matter what processes were put in place to try and mitigate the effects of the virus, no models were ever likely to be deemed a success, though it has become increasingly clear that some international efforts were more prudent than others. Yet in many countries around the globe those efforts were necessarily underpinned by an unsung army of community groups and NGOs, putting their own health at risk to ensure the most vulnerable were not left even farther behind.

It's fair to say that this World Environment Day 2020 on 5th June there will be some very different talking points than might have been the case just four months ago.

COVID-19 has skewed the conversation around so many topics it's difficult to escape its influence in our everyday life and the environment is no different. The Freedom to Self-Isolate

There has been much debate about personal freedom being impinged through lockdowns and enforced self isolation, yet there are millions in developing nations who don't have the privilege of social distancing. 

Privilege may sound an odd word to use during an undoubtedly difficult time like this, when millions of us have been asked to stay at home and many have been unable to see their families. But we are, at least, able to shield those we love through this very act.
