Organisation Overview

Laxmanghat Social Development Centre is a community organisation based in Banaganga, a remote region of Kapilvastu District in Western Nepal.

Their distinctive proposition is to engage and inspire the youth of the area in cultural and social development in order to create a culture of leadership, engagement and empowerment in the community. The organisation uses twin aims of inspiring young people through cultural engagement whilst implementing social development to create an exciting multi-sector model

Socially they have a number of health and sanitation programmes including clean water access and public hygiene projects.

They also deliver numerous cultural events to inspire and engage with the youth of the region and identify the next generation of young leaders.

Why do they need this training?

The training identified would enable LSDC focus their obvious passion for their work and massively increase its effectiveness and reach within the communities.

Who would fit this role?

The ideal volunteer would have a background in marketing and communications with knowledge of both traditional and new media, content creation, campaign strategy and experience in developing and managing an effective online presence.
