Organisation Overview

Vikasana Institute of Rural & Urban Development is a rural community-based organisation in Mandya, Karnataka State, Southern India. They aim to support empowerment and self-reliance within socio-economically deprived groups in their region, with specific regard to gender equality, youth protection and engagement and families living in poverty.

Why do they need this training?

The nature of their work often leads Vikasana staff into culturally and socially sensitive situations. In order to protect and support those most at need and raise awareness of the wider issues, they have asked for specific training on social work methodology surrounding mediation, intervention and communication which will allow them to more easily control such instances

Who would fit this role?

Vikasana are looking for a professional with a background in social work or related fields like the emergency services or nursing. Experience in face to face communication, situation management and intervention would be ideal.
