Organisation Overview
Nisarga are a well established foundation based in the district of Karnataka in the Southern region of India. They aim to support, protect and empower the indigenous forest dwelling 'Adivasi Tribe' whose livelihoods face numerous conflicts.
Through an vital program of education, training, medical support, awareness and political advocacy, the organisation actively ensure the health and well-being of the infants, children and young mothers of the tribe, enable positive socio-economic, cultural and political empowerment in the indigenous areas, while protecting the environment and nurturing the biodiversity of the tribal lands.
They are looking for the support from a number of confident and experienced volunteers to help them in developing their staff team and programmes.
Why do they need this training?
Nisarga have recognised they require further training to improve the delivery of their work in the community.They have highlighted Social Work as a key area for development, especially in regard to basic methodology; assessment, admin and information handling and face to face communication skills and crisis management.
Who would fit this role?
Nisarga are looking for a professional with a background in social work or related fields and experience in face to face communication and situation management and intervention. They will also be comfortable in delivering sessions on Microsoft skills, as designed by CDV Global.This opportunity is open to pairs & couples
Nisarga are happy to accommodate two people and are open to two volunteers delivering the training.
